If you want a quiet boating destination check it out, much different feel than the Vineyard or Nantucket. Almost half the island is a nature sanctuary than has trails. We were willing to let the kids take radios and wonder were they wanted. Plenty of boating destinations nearby to explore no mater what the wind is doing.
After many years of introducing friends and family to Sandy Neck 4wd beach and the surrounding waters, I am now offering this service to those visiting our shores. This beach is a special place where you can easily bring your gear with you to enjoy the tranquil sandbars and wading pools. I am hosting this experience through Air B&Bs new experience feature.
It was a long winter on Cape Cod we received a pounding by winter storms and had a cold and dreary March and April. Then all of a sudden Spring! with warm days and pollen everywhere. Our whole world went from dead and brown to green in what seems like a week.
The Sandy Nech Offroad Supply (S.O.S.) ORV BOX has all the equipment you need to drive out on the beach in one package. The box is custom made of sturdy 3/4 in plywood to handle beach life. The top of the box exceeds the minimum requirements to be used as a Jack Support Board for Cape Cod beach driving. Inside you will find storage for the included folding shovel, tire pressure gauge, and tow strap.
After a long winter, it seems as though everything on Cape Cod is joyful to see the sun. I stopped by Bells Neck in Harwich today and was amazed at the number of birds. Out of all of them, the best show of the day was the snowy egrets.
On 6A in Brewster, just east of the Cape Cod Sea Camps, is an old house with a 1/2 mile trail that leads to the ocean.
The main trail is short and steep down to Mystic lake but if you go right at the split it will bring you under Race Lane by way of an old cow tunnel.
Maple Swamp Conservation is 770 acres of land in Sandwich off the Service Road. It has some of the tallest and steepest hills on Cape Cod which then give great views out over the Bay.
The parking area is only a fews spots on the side of the road in Brewster but the trail brings you past a stone foundation form the 1870s, holly groves, and tall pines to one of the best views of Cape Cod Bay.
The Punkhorn Parklands in Brewster have many interesting walks but Eagle point has some of the best views.
